Friday-Sunday, August 22-24
General Butler State Park

We hope you can join us for our third annual WPA-sponsored ����� Campout! The campout will take place Friday, August 22 through Sunday, August 24. This informal gathering provides an opportunity to mingle with friends or explore on your own -- choose your own adventure! Both RV and tent sites (with water & electric hookups) are available. Tent sites can accommodate 2 cars & 2 tents. and The WPA will provide pizza Saturday evening. Each family will be responsible for booking and paying for their own campsite and bringing their own food for remaining meals. The campground activity offerings will be provided closer to the event. If you have any questions in the meantime, please feel free to contact Sarah Recio at sarah.cusick@gmail.com. Registration deadline is August 1.

Kindergarten and 12th Grade families are welcome to drop in to Mrs. Tyler's office on the first day of school for a cup of coffee, muffins, hugs and high-fives to celebrate their little or big kid’s first day of school. There will be plenty of tissues and warm smiles to help you get through this big morning!

K-12 Meet Your Desk

Tuesday, August 5 • 4:00-6:00pm*

*Kindergarteners will arrive at 3:30pm and enter through Ms. Kunkel’s room on the carpool lane. Please look for the butterfly garden flag.

Kick off the start of the new school year by attending Meet Your Desk night! The evening will be full of fun, food, and time to catch up or meet ����� families and faculty. Cool Treats will be on-site to provide sweet treats for our ����� students, compliments of the ����� Parent Association! Each student receives a ticket for one free small treat.

Tickets for Lower School students will be on their classroom desks. Tickets for ����� and High School students will be in their advisor's room. Tickets are for ����� students only, but families can purchase treats for other family members.

POPSICLE PARTIES

Saturday, August 2

Let’s celebrate the upcoming school year with popsicles and playtime! Sponsored by the ����� Parent Association, this casual event will give students and parents time to reconnect or get to know each other while cooling off with some popsicles in ����� Green Space.

Kindergarten through 2nd Grade will meet from 9:00-10:00am. Third and 4th Grade will meet from 10:30-11:30am. Families may enter through the playground and are welcome to park in the driveway. We hope to see you there!

Robsion Park Gathering

5:00-7:00pm

Bring your camp chairs and a picnic dinner (or grab takeout at one of the restaurants in the area) and join us for a very informal gathering of families at in Lyndon. June 9-July 18

We think summer camps should be innovative, fun, and different!

They should challenge and engage your child both creatively and academically. Camp ����� provides the total package in an exciting, five-week program packed with sessions ranging from athletics, arts and crafts, STEAM activities, cooking, and more!

A positive social-emotional experience for our campers is a top priority. In addition, instructors strive to get kids outside to learn and play through nature.

Annual Lower School

����� Derby

Thursday, May 1
2:00pm

On Thursday, May 1st, �����’s Lower School will celebrate our very own Kentucky Derby Festival, an event that has become a favorite with our children, parents, and faculty. Included in the festivities will be the Pegasus Parade, the playing of the Run for the Roses, and the running of the ����� Derby.

To start the event, the 2nd Grade will show off their Derby hats followed by 1st Grade floats. And lastly, the Kindergarten will participate in the ����� Derby. Thanks to Chef Krissy and her staff, Lower School students will be celebrating with cookies after the event. Come celebrate with us at this special event!

The Stacy Nickle Volunteer of the Year Award, sponsored by the ����� Parent Association, is given to a person(s) who exemplifies an extraordinary commitment of service to ����� School. The criteria for the award recipient(s) is as follows:

• Recognized as an outstanding ambassador for the school in all capacities

• Served on at least one ����� volunteer committee and held a leadership position

• Demonstrated service above and beyond duties assigned for committee work and responsibilities of a leadership position

Lower School Carpool

DOGGY DERBY DAY

Wednesday, April 30

The Derby wouldn't be complete without racehorses, and ����� wouldn't be complete without all the furry friends that our families share with us during the morning carpool. We love them so much that we decided to dedicate Wednesday, April 30th as �����'s 3rd Annual Doggy Derby Day!

Please bring your fur babies through the Lower School morning carpool and feel free to dress them up in Derby style (if they're willing). We'll snap their photos and share them on social media!

Navigating the Next Chapter

We are excited to invite our 6th Grade parents to a special event, Navigating the Next Chapter, where we will guide you through what lies ahead as your child transitions from 6th to 7th Grade and beyond. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the upcoming changes, academic expectations, and the exciting opportunities available in Grades 7-12.

Get ready for an evening of brain-teasing fun and laughter at the highly anticipated WPA-Sponsored Trivia Night! All parents/guardians, grandparents, faculty, and ����� friends are welcome to attend ����� Trivia Night for an evening of prizes, costumes, a cash bar, and of course, bragging rights for winning our trivia contest. This year we are also offering a cash prize to the winning team!

• TEAMS: Teams are comprised of up to 8 people at a table. Don't have a team? No problem. Just sign up as an individual and we will assign you to a team.

  • You will select your team/table preference when you purchase your tickets. Please make a note of who you are sitting with.

  • If you are buying tickets for your whole team, please include your teammates’ names (if you know them)

• TABLE DECORATION: There will be a table decoration contest and a prize for the best theme! Costumes are encouraged. A plastic tablecloth will be provided for each table.

• TICKETS: Tickets are required. The cost is $25/person; you may also sponsor a teacher for $25. This is an adults-only event. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, March 20.

• FOOD/DRINK:  We will offer a cash bar but individuals may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.

2025 K-12 Musical

Shrek the Musical Jr.

*UPDATE: Shrek the Musical is back on! New Dates are March 14-15 at The Belknap Playhouse, University of Louisville.

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical.  It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance.  Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

Instructed by ����� music teacher, Janine Fink, �����’s Tunes for Tots partners with families with an engaging approach to making music and exploring movement while fostering self confidence, socialization, and setting the foundation for a lifelong love of music and learning. Participants in this play-based offering will: sing, dance, play instruments, and explore stories, poems, and nursery rhymes. We look forward to making joyful sounds with you and your child!

Join the WPA for the All-School Skate Party at Champ’s Rollerdrome on Thursday, March 6th. We invite our K-6th Grade students to skate between 5:00-7:00pm and our 7th-12th Grade students to skate between 6:00-8:00pm.

Notes: Students must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times. Child drop-offs are not permitted. Skate rental is included for students only. Snacks and drinks, skate trainers (12 and under), and adult skate rentals are the responsibility of the families. We hope to see you there!
